As is the tradition of the Web in general and the Blogistan in particular, here’s an about page.
This blog came into being on 14th March, 2003. At that time it was hosted on Diary-X and had ultaseedha.diary-x.com as its address. During the time when it was hosted on Diary-X I used to call it my “journal” and not my “blog”. Don’t ask me the reason.
ultaseedha.com.pk came after three years, when Diary-X had crashed. Since then, it’s been sitting here happily and, more often than not, idly.
To those of you who come here looking for Ulta Seedha that is not a blog but a TV show, I apologize. This blog has no affiliation with that show, and having the same name is just a coincidence.
I am Saadat. I am the person who can receive the Most Neglectful Blogger Award, if there’s such a thing.
When I first wrote an about page for this blog, it was all about me. Now that I think of it, it seems pretty unfair. So, if you want to know more about me, here’s the place to go. (I am a pretty boring person, by the way, and that page which is about me is pretty childish, so click on your own risk.)
Some posts in this blog are in Urdu, and for such posts there are two help pages that I wrote:
Even though I am the only person who maintains and contributes (except readers’ comments) to this blog, there are many things in which I have had external help. You can find full details here.
Occasionally, a grey bar will appear on top of each page displaying a newsflash. If you wish to read about past newsflashes, you can go here.
You can access the main feed for this blog by clicking on the feed button on the top. (It’s Atom, by the way.) More feeds and other information are here.
All content of this blog is authored/created by me, i.e. Saadat (unless otherwise stated — please see the credits), and is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Unported License.
In English, it means that you are free to copy, distribute and transmit the work of this blog, provided that you attribute it to me (a hyperlink will be enough), that you do not earn any profit from it, and that you do not alter, transform, or build upon it.
The design/theme of this blog is mine and does not fall under the above mentioned license, so you may not copy it. It’s nothing fancy, to be honest, but it’s still mine. (Again, see the credits to know which elements I borrowed.)
And if you are in doubt, just ask me.
I wrote a sort of FAQ too for this blog, which has not been revised for quite a while. Since it received some interesting comments, I haven’t deleted it.
